HIGH MOUNTAIN HAY FEVER BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL WESTCLIFFE,
COLORAD Our Music Director, Ron Thomason, has assembled another fantastic lineup for the 2009 festival, including return visits by a number of popular performers. We think you'll agree that 2009 will be another banner year. See below for the 2009 roster. Click on Performer Profiles at left for more information about each band. The detailed 2009 Main Stage and Workshop Stage schedules have been posted. Click Main Stage Schedule or Workshop Stage Schedule at left. Host band Dry Branch Fire Squad with very special guest, the legendary George Shuffler (Fri-Sat-Sun) NEW! LIMITED DOG BOARDING AVAILABLE DURING THE FESTIVAL (added 4/16/09) On a few occasions in the past, festival patrons have brought their pets with them and assumed they could bring their pets into the performance area. Unfortunately,we are unable to allow pets in the performance area due to liability concerns. To alleviate this issue, HMHF board member Chris Derick worked with the owners of our local veterinary and boarding facility, Dundee Memorial Animal Care Center, and they have agreed to extend their boarding hours over High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival Weekend. We are very pleased and grateful that they have made it possible for festival-goers to bring their pets with them, knowing that they will be well cared for during the heat of the day. Dundee's hours for festival weekend are:
Reservations must be made in advance as accommodations are limited. The performances were inspiring, the audience enthusiastic, and the weather cooperated throughout. Best of all, we did so well that we were able to generate more than $65,000 for the Custer County Medical Center in Westcliffe. This compares to $27,000 from the first four years and $48,000 in 2007, bringing the total over six years to $140,000!. We are very proud of this accomplishment and we are grateful to all of the volunteers, sponsors and attendees who made it possible. We look forward to seeing you here in 2009! ....................................................................................................... OUR SPECTACULAR FESTIVAL SITE
Photos: Top, Bill Gillette; bottom, Bob Thomason The festival site is at the west end of Main Street in Westcliffe, on a bluff directly overlooking the spectacular Wet Mountain Valley and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (see photos above). We think you won't find a more inspiring site for a festival. |
